June 2nd @ 5:30pm – An army (even an army of researchers) marches on its stomach. Now, I don’t have a frame of reference, this being my first deep sea cruise, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how amazing the food is on board. Sarah, India, and Greg turn out three square meals a day that are hearty, healthy, and with variety and culinary depth that rivals many a good restaurant, all in a kitchen the size of a large dorm room at university.
As an example, you can see tonight’s dinner menu below, which is by no means atypical, and with work aboard the ship happening round the clock, there is always fresh fruit, cakes, snacks, bagels, juice, coffee and tea, etc. to keep us ‘midnight snackers’ satiated.
